CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy)

CRT or Corneal Refractive Therapy is a method of vision correction that eliminates the need to wear eyeglasses or use contact lenses during the day. The procedure, also known as overnight vision correction or corneal reshaping, involves using specially designed rigid gas-permeable contact lenses to reshape the cornea gently.

Placed at bedtime and removed in the morning, these lenses precisely mold the eye's front surface so that clear, crisp vision can be enjoyed throughout the day.

CRT provides a safe and therapeutic option for vision correction in children, teens, and adults. While commonly used to address mild to moderate myopia (nearsightedness), this method may also be helpful with other types of refractive errors. It also offers a practical, non-surgical alternative to LASIK and other refractive surgeries for individuals who are not candidates for those procedures because of their youth or issues involving the health of their eyes. Furthermore, CRT is a suitable choice for people active in certain sports or with jobs in environments where wearing contact lenses might prove more difficult.

In addition to offering a non-invasive option for patients of all ages, treatment with CRT is entirely reversible. Once discontinued, there are no permanent changes to the eyes. This feature leaves one free to re-explore wearing eyeglasses, contact lenses during the day, or having a LASIK procedure.
